Mack Brown and the UNC Football program received some good news regarding a four-star recruit in the 2022 class on Monday. After adding to their 2022 class with a few commitments in July, the Tar Heels took a step forward with one more target here.

Four-star wide receiver Andre Greene Jr. made an update to his recruitment, cutting his list of 57 offers down to a top six on Monday.

Greene Jr. will now focus on North Carolina, LSU, Oregon, Clemson, Penn State, and Georgia moving forward in his recruitment. That’s a pretty stacked list with two ACC programs, two SEC programs, a Big Ten program and a Pac-12 program.

The 6-foot-3, 175-pound wide receiver out of Richmond, Virginia is ranked No. 87 overall player, No. 12 wide receiver and No. 3 player in the state of Virginia. He had a long offer list and was able to take trips to North Carolina, Georgia and Oregon in the month of June.

Even though Greene Jr. cut his list, there appears to be some time left in his recruitment which might be good news for a team like UNC who may have some ground to make up.

As it stands right now, UNC has 12 commitments in the 2022 class which is ranked No. 21 overall and the No. 4 class in the ACC. Landing a few big commitments in July was huge for Brown and his staff especially after a slow start. Now that things have picked up a bit, the Tar Heels are starting to find their groove.
