UNC Football: Marcus Allen commits to Tar Heels
The UNC football continues to thrive on the recruiting trail, as they’ve landed a commitment from a three-star cornerback from the Class of 2022.
The month of June was a very productive one for Mack Brown and the UNC Football program.
After landing a few key commitments throughout the month, Rivals listed the Tar Heels as one of their teams of the month in regards to recruiting. This was before the UNC football program hauled in another commitment prior to the month’s official end.
On his Twitter account, three-star cornerback Marcus Allen announced that he has committed to North Carolina. Allen currently ranks as the No. 44 overall cornerback and the 45th overall prospect in the state of Georgia, as per 247 Sports.
The Tar Heels have been interested in Allen for quite some time. Mack Brown and his staff officially offered the Marietta, GA native back on September 14, 2020, but were unable to get him on campus due to COVID restrictions.
Recently, student-athletes have been able to once again take visits to campuses, which led Allen to Chapel Hill back on June 25. Just five days after his visit, Allen decided that North Carolina was the place for him.
After his visit, two Crystal Ball predictions were placed in favor of the UNC Football program. From the time they made their offer, it appeared as if the Tar Heels had a bit of an upper hand in this talented prospects recruitment.
With the addition of Allen, North Carolina now has eight players committed for the Class of 2022. As the recruiting trail heats up, expect the Tar Heels coaching staff to add even more players to the mix.
