After allowing limited capacity during the 2020 season, it appears that full capacity will be allowed for UNC Football games in 2021.

There’s a lot of anticipation surround the 2021 UNC football team. After limited amounts of people were able to watch the Tar Heels live in 2020, it appears that this season will be much closer to normal.

According to Inside Carolina, Kenan Stadium, the home of the UNC football program, is expected to be at full capacity for the upcoming season. Tar Heel fans will have the opportunity to go to the home games to root on their favorite team!

As the world looks to get past the COVID-19 virus, the state of North Carolina has begun easing some of their protocols. In May, governor Roy Cooper lifted the state’s restrictions on mass gatherings and social distancing, which gave home to a full-capacity crowd at Kenan Stadium this fall.

Along with allowing in full capacities, there are other plans in place for the upcoming season. North Carolina is planning to welcome back some game day traditions, including the Bell Tower Walk and postgame celebrations. They are also said to be working on ways to provide opportunities for students, staff and fans to have an outstanding game day experience.

Due to the pandemic, any individuals who purchased tickets for the 2020 season had the opportunity to roll the tickets over for the 2021 campaign. Additionally, the Inside Carolina reports mentions how season tickets are “close to selling out.”

After opening their season on the road, the UNC football program will return home for back-to-back night games. The Tar Heels will host Georgia State on September 11, while Virginia comes for a visit to North Carolina on September 18.

Mack Brown and his program will look to make a push towards the College Football Playoffs this upcoming season. It will be a huge benefit to have a sold-out crowd at Kenan Stadium for each of the team’s home contests.
