Mack Brown and the UNC Football program have added another member to their 2022 recruiting class following a busy month of visits in Chapel Hill.  Just a few days after landing a three-star linebacker, the Tar Heels are back with another verbal commitment but this time on the offensive line.

Three-star offensive tackle Justin Kanyuk pledged his commitment to the program on Sunday morning becoming the latest to join the Carolina family.

Kanyuk was on an unofficial visit to UNC this weekend and it wrapped up with him offering the commitment. It was his second visit this month to the program.  He’s the seventh player to join UNC’s 2022 class which now ranks 35th in the country after the latest two commitments.

Kanyuk is ranked No. 1,029 overall, No. 102 offensive tackle and the No. 23 player in the state of Pennsylvania per the 247Sports composite rankings. He had 10 offers in his recruitment including from Maryland, Charlotte, Brown, Columbia, Illinois State, Lafayette, Lehigh, Missouri State, Penn and Virginia.

The 6-foot-5, 290-pound is the second offensive line prospect to commit to North Carolina in the 2022 class, a area of need moving forward for the Tar Heels under Mack Brown. Of UNC’s seven commits, five players are outside of the state of North Carolina which is a little unusual in terms of previous recruiting classes dominating in-state recruiting.

UNC does have a lot of time left and they are off to a good start in this 2022 class as Brown and his staff hope to turn in another Top 20 class.
