While Hubert Davis and the UNC Basketball program are out on the recruiting trail again this weekend, the focus continues on building future recruiting classes for the program.

The Tar Heels have already landed two commitments in the 2022 class with the most recent being guard Seth Trimble. Even with a good start to the 2022 class, the Tar Heels are also hoping to start building their 2023 class by identifying some top targets on their board.

And among them is a five-star guard that happens to be one of the top players in the entire 2023 recruiting class.

It’s no secret that UNC has made Robert Dillingham a priority in this class and now they are hoping to take a step forward as the leaders in his recruitment. Dillingham has yet to take an official visit to UNC’s campus but on Friday he decided to set a date for an unofficial visit.

Per Alex Karamanos of The Circuit Hoops, Dillingham is scheduled to be on UNC’s campus Tuesday for an unofficial visit:

The five-star guard is ranked No. 11 overall, No. 2 point guard and the No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina per the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s a guard that has really upped his stock over the past few years and is starting to draw a lot of attention in his recruitment.

Dillingham has a total of 10 offers in his recruitment, landing one from UNC on Christmas Eve but since then other programs like Duke, Texas, Kansas and Ole Miss have shown interest.

As it stands right now, UNC appears to be the frontrunners in this race for the talented recruit and getting an unofficial this early is good news. Can they hold off some charges from programs like Duke or potentially the Pro route?
