The focus for the UNC Basketball program is with the 2022 class here in June, a month were official visits and evaluations are allowed again. But Hubert Davis and his staff are also starting to identify their top targets in future classes as well.

As it stands right now, UNC has three active offers out to recruits in the 2023 class headlined by five-star guard Robert Dillingham. But last week, the Tar Heels got involved with four-star power forward G.G. Jackson as they officially offered him.

The Columbia, South Carolina native is starting to see his recruitment pick up a bit here over the past few weeks and the Tar Heels aren’t the only team to recently offer. In fact, UNC’s top rival is also getting involved for the recruit.

On Monday, Duke officially entered the race by offering the prospect as he announced he had officially received his offer from the program via Twitter:

Jackson has a total of 12 offers in his recruitment so far with Tennessee, NC State, High Point, Boston College, Pitt, Wake Forest, Clemson, Virginia Tech, South Carolina and Syracuse joining UNC and Duke to offer. With a long ways to go in his recruitment, that number will increase and right now it’s hard to tell who exactly are the favorites.

The recruit is ranked No. 30 overall, the No. 6 power forward and the No. 1 player in the state of South Carolina per the 247Sports Composite rankings. With his recruitment already on the rise, Jackson could be poised for a big Summer on the AAU circuit which can improve his stock in terms of rankings. He will also likely see more offers as well as there is a long way to go in his recruitment.
