UNC Basketball: D’Marco Dunn showcases his jump shot
A recent social media post from UNC basketball incoming freshman D’Marco Dunn should certainly catch the attention of Tar Heel fans.
The UNC basketball program has had its fair share of struggles offensively over the last two seasons. A major reason for the team’s offensive inefficiency is their lack of true shooters on the roster.
Other than Kerwin Walton, last year’s squad didn’t feature any guys who could shoot the ball from long-range at an efficient rate. The Tar Heels were very one-dimensional, putting a heavy focus on getting the basketball into the paint.
With Hubert Davis now at the helm, along with a new-look roster, it appears as if that can certainly change heading into the 2021-22 season. As North Carolina looks to improve their shooting woes, could this incoming freshman be a part of the solution?
Recently, D’Marco Dunn posted a video on his Instagram account. The video highlighted Dunn’s shooting ability, showcasing how he has the potential to score from all over the court.
In case you missed it, here’s the video:
Dunn, a four-star recruit from Fayetteville, North Carolina, was viewed as the No. 65 overall prospect in the Class of 2021 according to the 247 Sports Composite. The incoming freshman was ranked as the 14th-best shooting guard in the class, and also as the third-best prospect in the state of North Carolina.
If Tar Heel fans weren’t already excited about his arrival in Chapel Hill, Dunn’s recent social media post should certainly get them hyped up. With the addition of a few other capable scorers this offseason, Dunn could definitely play a major factor in the Tar Heels’ rotation, as he provides some scoring depth that the past few teams didn’t possess.
