The UNC Basketball program will soon know their fate in the race for a four-star guard in the 2022 recruiting class.

After taking visits this June, guard Seth Trimble appears ready to make his decision. On Sunday, Trimble took to Instagram to post a countdown with the caption “!?!?!?!?” hinting that a big announcement is coming in over two days.

And later on, Tipton Edits confirmed that Trimble is ready to make his decision posting this on Twitter:

The four-star recruit has a total of 14 offers in his recruitment including landing one from UNC about a month ago. But as the weeks have gone on, it appears as if two programs have been battling it out for his services.

Both UNC and Michigan have emerged as favorites for Trimble and both recently hosted the recruit on campus. Last weekend, Trimble was in Ann Arbor for his official visit and he then headed to Chapel Hill to visit the Tar Heels earlier this past week. His brother, former UNC standout J.P. Tokoto, as well as his family accompanied him on both trips.

It’s hard to say who the frontrunner is in the recruitment right now and considering he just finished visiting both programs, there really aren’t any hits out….yet.

Trimble is ranked No. 54 overall, No. 9 at the point guard position and the No. 1 player in the state of Wisconsin per the 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s a big target for the Tar Heels considering they could have to replace guard Caleb Love after this upcoming season and they do need some depth in the backcourt. Hubert Davis and his staff have landed one commitment so far in 2022 but the month of June may get better for them in just a few days.
