With recruiting set to pick up here in the next few months with the NCAA lifting travel restrictions, recruits are starting to set their official visits for the Summer. That includes the UNC Basketball program who will host some prospects this June.

On the top of Hubert Davis’ list for recruits is four-star power forward De’Ante Green. The recruit has become a big target for the Tar Heels in the 2022 staff and being an in-state product that plays at Asheville Christian Academy, landing him would be huge for UNC.

Green is set to visit North Carolina on June 11-12th as the Tar Heels look to impress the recruit and eventually win him over. But those aren’t the only visits he will take and now another team is getting into the mix for the talented forward.

Per Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers, Green will now visit Tennessee in June in addition to his trips to visit UNC and N.C. State. Additionally, Green will add two more visits for his recruitment as he plans on taking all five eventually:

With North Carolina holding the crystal ball predictions for Green, the No. 111 overall player and No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina per 247Sports, they do appear to be the favorites in this recruitment. However, there is a long way to go and Tennessee getting an official visit makes them a contender as well.

Green isn’t the only UNC target that Tennessee is getting involved with either. Last week the Volunteers offered class of 2023 phenom Robert Dillingham as they entered their hat into the race for the five-star prospect.

Neither player is a lock to UNC just yet and now Davis and his staff have some work to do to secure future commitments from top in-state talents.
