UNC Basketball head coach Hubert Davis is in his second month on the job and is attacking recruiting head on right now.

On Sunday night, Davis offered a five-star prospect out of Indiana as Jalen Washington announced that North Carolina was his latest offer. Now, two days later Davis is back at it and offering another recruit in the 2022 class.

Five-star small forward Chris Livingston is the latest prospect to receive an offer from North Carolina per Inside Carolina. The Tar Heels reached out to Livingston about a week ago after he shined at the Georgia recruiting event Exposure Breakout. From there, UNC saw enough as recently promoted assistant Sean May is leading the recruitment for the talented forward.

Livingston is an Akron, Ohio native that is ranked No. 4 overall, No. 2 small forward and the No. 1 player in the state of Ohio per the 247Sports recruiting rankings. He has a total of 8 offers so far in his recruitment including from UNC, Kansas, LSU and Florida among others.

The 6-foot-6-inch wing is out of Akron, the birthplace of star LeBron James and could be the next big talent heading to the NBA from the area.

In 2020, James offered his praise for Livingston as he shouted him out on his Instagram calling him “Young King”:

The forward averaged 32.5 points, 12.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.9 steals, and 1.4 blocks for Western Reserve Academy in 2020 and is taking his game to another level, upping his recruiting stock.

North Carolina does not have a player committed in the 2022 class but with 2021 essentially in the books, the focus is shifting that way big time. That’s evident by the latest two offers from Davis as he’s seeking some help on the wing for the future of his program.
