UNC Basketball: Hubert Davis offers 2022 four-star recruit
By Zack Pearson
It’s been a busy past 10 days for new UNC Basketball head coach Hubert Davis as he’s not only offered a few prospects but he’s landed two transfers as well with the latest being Brady Manek out of Oklahoma who committed on Friday.
Then following Manek’s commitment, Davis was back on the recruiting trail and officially offered a four-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class.
Forward Isaac Traudt announced via Twitter on Friday that he has received his offer from Davis and the Tar Heels. He posted this message:
The 6-foot-9, 205-pound power forward is a Nebraska native that is getting set to enter his senior season at Grand Island Senior. He does so with a total of 29 offers and the latest two coming from North Carolina today and Michigan State a few days back.
Traudt is ranked as the No. 50 overall recruit, No. 9 power forward and the No. 1 player in the state of Nebraska per the 247Sports recruiting rankings. He’s also the 10th player to receive an offer from North Carolina in the 2022 cycle but the program has yet to land a recruit.
He’s also the first 2022 recruit under Davis to earn an offer.
It’s still very early in the 2022 recruiting cycle and Davis is still fresh on the job, so UNC fans shouldn’t panic about the program not landing a commitment just yet. At this stage, Davis is evaluating the recruiting board and seeking the best fits for the program. Commitments will come, it’s just going to be a matter of time. As for Traudt, there’s no set timetable on an announcement which is good news for the Tar Heels in terms of where they stand in this recruitment right now.
