For the third straight time in the NCAA Tournament, the UNC Basketball program sees their season end in a double-digit loss. It was again “one of those nights” for the Tar Heels as Wisconsin got red hot from the three-point line and UNC just couldn’t hit anything.

Now the Tar Heels are set to hit the offseason and it’s going to be a very important one especially with some rules that could impact the roster. The NCAA’s transfer portal is expected to be the Wild West and with players allowed another year of eligibility, it’s going to be a crazy ride.

But what about UNC’s own roster?

Well, following the game the question about players returning for another year or staying was brought up. And one player in particular, Garrison Brooks, gave a little insight to his decision.

Brooks was asked by the media about his future with the program and offered an answer that left the door open for both a return or potential transfer. On him giving any thought of returning for another year with the eligibility rule, Brooks said “a little bit.”

However, he also stated that

“Just sit back and think. How much I can accomplish anywhere?,” Brooks said. “Just in case It’s going somewhere else or staying here, or turning pro. It’s always something I think about, I’ll think about it to myself and just come to a decision.”

It’s certainly something to keep an eye on here in the coming weeks. Would Brooks come back and be apart of UNC’s front court again that is deep? That all could depend on what Armando Bacot and Day’Ron Sharpe decide to do. Walker Kessler will be back for another season and the Tar Heels could be deep again. There is also the chance that Bacot, Brooks and Sharpe are all gone, or a combination of them. That would leave UNC in some trouble in terms of their depth in the frontcourt.

After being named the preseason ACC Player of the Year, Brooks averaged 10.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists while shooting 47.6 percent from the field.

Is UNC still the favorite for this recruit?. dark. Next
