A pair of former UNC Basketball standouts have found success playing overseas after spending four years in Chapel Hill. And on Wednesday, they faced off against each other for the first time in Italy.

Marcus Paige and Luke Maye dueled on the court in a EuroCup showdown on Wednesday night, as both continue their careers for their respected teams.

Paige and KK Partizan took down Maye’ and Dolomiti Energia Trento 69-54 using a second-half surge to earn the big win on the road. While both players started, it was Paige that would get the last laugh in the end using a nice second-half performance to get his team the win.

In 33 minutes, Paige scored 5 points and dished out 3 assists in the win, scoring both of his baskets in that second half. Meanwhile, Maye finished the game with 9 points and 6 rebounds while playing in 26 minutes.

While the two dueled on the court Wednesday, both players met up before the game to catch up per George Harmer of the Ceiling is the Roof blog as he detailed in his recap that can be found here. It’s good to see the two catch up when they can, despite Maye playing in Italy and Paige in Serbia.

Paige is in year three in Serbia playing for KK Partizan while Maye is in his first season in Italy with Dolomiti Energia Trento.
