Mack Brown and the UNC Football program turned in another solid recruiting class for the 2021 cycle as they continue to build up the team. With the 2021 cycle over, the focus has now shifted to the 2022 class and the Tar Heels already have some prospects on their radar.

As it stands here in February, the Tar Heels have three commitments in the 2022 class with the potential to add another before the month ends. With over 50 offers out to prospects, the Tar Heels will add to their class as the months go on but they are starting to prioritize some more recruits.

One of those recruits is a four-star quarterback that is starting to see his recruitment pick up with plenty of big programs showing interest. Cade Klubnik is becoming a hot name in this 2022 class, holding offers from 30 programs but there are a few that are showing significant interest including UNC.

Recently, Klubnik has conducted Zoom visits with coaches of programs who are showing interest in him. As it stands, UNC, Florida, Texas, and Clemson are the programs that are actively pursuing him the most.

Klubnik is ranked as the No. 74 overall recruit, No. 5 Pro Style quarterback and No. 14 player in the state of Texas per the 247 Sports recruiting rankings. He recently moved up into the Top 50 in the Rivals rankings, showing his improvement over the past few months.

As for a decision, Klubnik really isn’t much closer since the last time we updated his recruitment around a week ago. He still wants to make a decision before the start of his senior season at West Lake High School, indicating that it will likely come in the Summer or just before then.
