With the 2021 recruiting cycle starting to wrap up for the UNC Basketball program, Roy Williams and his staff are starting to focus on future classes.

North Carolina has started to dish out more offers in 2022 including a pair of recruits officially receiving theirs last week. But it’s not just 2022 where the Tar Heels are focusing on.  They have one active offer out in the 2023 class, offering four-star point guard Robert Dillingham back on Christmas Day.

Since then, the Tar Heels have emerged as the favorites to land him although it’s very early in the recruiting cycle. After his offer, 247 Sports recruiting analyst Jerry Meyer placed a Crystal Ball prediction in favor of the Tar Heels for Dillingham. And on Wednesday, UNC received another prediction for the talented guard.

247 Sports analyst Travis Branham placed a prediction for the Tar Heels on Wednesday, giving them now three predictions as an N.C. State reporter also has him going to UNC.  As it stands now, UNC has 100% of the Crystal Ball predictions with two high confidence picks from Meyer and Miles Masercola.

The 6-foot-1, 160-pound point guard is ranked No. 10 overall, No. 4 at point guard and the No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina per 247 Sports. While he is ranked as a four-star recruit, it’s likely he receives his fifth star as the rankings are updated over time. He currently has a total of 8 offers and with ways to go in his recruitment, that number will continue to grow.

Dillingham called UNC one of his dream schools back in January, a good sign moving forward for the Tar Heels.  But we really need to keep in mind that there is a LONG way to go in his recruitment and while the Tar Heels are considered the early favorites, anything can happen between now and the time when he makes his commitment.
