A top UNC Basketball recruiting target for 2023 called the Tar Heels his dream school after receiving an offer from the program recently

Just a few weeks ago Roy Williams and the UNC Basketball program sent out their first offer to a recruit in the 2023 class, establishing the start of their recruiting board for that cycle.

Five-star point guard Robert Dillingham received his offer from the Tar Heels as the sophomore’s recruitment is starting to heat up. The Charlotte, North Carolina product has really upped his game over the past year and will be a top priority for the Tar Heels moving forward.

While Dillingham has rarely talked about his recruitment, he did speak with Jake Weingarten of StockRisers recently and revealed some positive news about UNC. According to Weingarten, the offer from UNC was huge as he called the program one of his dream schools. Here is the exact quote:

"“It’s just crazy to get a offer from one of my dream schools and most of all a blessing because it’s coming from arguably one of the best college coaches ever I’m just beyond thankful.”"

This isn’t the first recruit to call UNC a ‘dream school‘ and in the past, it hasn’t worked out for the Tar Heels on some commitments. However, Dillingham is a huge recruit for the Tar Heels and an offer from Williams and his staff may have changed his recruitment.

The 6-foot-1, 160-pound Dillingham is currently ranked as the No. 10 overall player, No. 4 guard and No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina by 247 Sports. In the past, we have seen Williams pull really good talent in-state as they have become a focus for recruiting classes.

Dillingham is going to be a HUGE recruit that UNC is going to need to land when it’s all said and done in his recruitment. And hearing him say that is certainly good news early on for the Tar Heels in this race.
