How could you not talk about Sam Howell?

The sophomore quarterback went into this game missing his top two running backs and his leading receiver. That didn’t stop the Indian Trail, NC native from competing at his usual high level.

Overall, Howell completed 18 of 31 passes for 234 yards and three touchdowns. He also made some plays in the running game, as he added 25 rushing yards to his total yards.

During this contest, Howell broke an ACC passing record. The below touchdown pass is the play in which the Tar Heels quarterback broke the record:

Howell has been tremendous for the UNC football program, and should generate a lot of NFL Draft buzz as he enters his junior season. If Howell continues to play at this level, the Tar Heels could once again be considered one of the top teams in the country during the 2021 campaign.
