Where does the national media project the UNC Football program to land for their bowl game? Well, there’s good news as they are feeling Orange.

Coming off their biggest win in years, the UNC Football program hopes that they have done enough to land a spot in a New Year’s Six bowl and play in the Orange Bowl to close out the 2020 season.

The Tar Heels dominated the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday afternoon pushing them to 8-3 on the year and seeing an increase in their AP Top 25 ranking.

But for UNC, the only ranking that matters right now is the College Football Playoff Rankings which are released on Tuesday. UNC needs to jump Miami and hope that Clemson and Notre Dame both make the playoffs as two of the four teams.

Following UNC’s win, many have their eyes on a Orange Bowl now which would be a huge accomplishment for the Tar Heels in Mack Brown’s second stint. And the national media are also in belief that the Tar Heels will land in that Orange Bowl.

Both ESPN and CBS Sports have released their updated Bowl Projections for Week 15 and all three projections have the Tar Heels in the Orange Bowl:

"ESPN Bonagura: Texas A&M vs. North CarolinaESPN Schlabach: Texas A&M vs. North CarolinaCBS Sports Jerry Palm: Texas A&M vs. North Carolina"

This is certainly good news for the Tar Heels as now the national media believes they will end up in the Orange Bowl. The first step is being ranked ahead of Miami on Tuesday night which doesn’t seem to be a big problem as they are already ahed of them in the AP Poll.

But the key will be Saturday night.

If Clemson beats Notre Dame, both teams will very likely be in. Even if Notre Dame beats Clemson and Alabama and Ohio State both win, the Tigers could still make it over Texas A&M. The Aggies will be the key here as they wont be in the SEC Championship Game. They are the only team with a chance to pass up Clemson.
