To continue the trend of seniors who had standout performances on “Senior Day,” Dazz Newsome also showed out in his final game on his home field.

The Hampton, VA native came up just short of 100 total yards of offense, as he tallied 97 total yards in just one half of play.

Through the passing game, Newsome hauled in all six of his targets for 82 yards. He scored on a 26-yard reception just prior to halftime to give the Tar Heels a 42-3 lead.

Over the last two years, Newsome has become a reliable target for quarterback Sam Howell. It was nice to see their connection was on-par during the pair’s final home contest together.
