This five-star recruit could be the next player to receive an offer from the UNC Basketball program according to one recruiting analyst

The UNC Basketball team is sitting at 3-1 to start the new season but Roy Williams and his staff are still keeping an eye on future classes for the program.

Coming off a Top 2 recruiting class for 2020, the Tar Heels currently have two recruits committed to their 2021 class. The hope is that UNC adds a five-star recruit to that class to wrap it up. But in terms of future classes, UNC has yet to earn a commitment in 2022.

Williams and his staff have sent out a few different offers to prospects.

While the class is still a long ways away from being wrapped up, the Tar Heels may have a new target they are after. Rivals recruiting analyst Dan McDonald wrote on an intriguing prospect in the 2022 class that is catching a few programs eyes. The latest might just be UNC as McDonald hints that the Tar Heels could eventually offer five-star guard Scoota Henderson:

"On the recruiting side of it, he’s starting to pick up more attention, despite college coaches not being allowed out to evaluate in person. Auburn has been one of the schools on him the longest and Bruce Pearl has been really aggressive in recruiting him. Florida, Florida State, Georgia and Tennessee have also been heavily involved. Recently, Kentucky has started to come into the picture with Henderson, and don’t be surprised if North Carolina is next."

The Georgia product is ranked No. 16 overall, No. 3 point guard and No. 1 in the state of Georgia per 247 Sports as his recruitment is starting to skyrocket. Henderson has a total of 12 offers in his recruitment so far and as McDonald writes, the next big one could come from UNC.

The Tar Heels have a need for some depth at the guard position as Caleb Love could head to the NBA after one or two seasons in Chapel Hill. With the uncertainty of Anthony Harris and no guard signed for next year, the position is a big need.
