The UNC Basketball program signs both of their verbal commitments from the 2021 recruiting class on Wednesday

With the 2020-21 college basketball season starting in just a few weeks, the focus will finally shift more towards the games being played rather than the off-court things. But one thing that won’t slow down is Roy Williams’s pursuit of potential UNC Basketball recruiting targets.

The Tar Heels still have a few targets out in their 2021 and 2022 recruiting classes, identifying recruits they feel would best fit their system. On Wednesday, Williams and his staff were able to sign two of those players to their 2021 class during the early signing period.

Both D’Marco Dunn and Dontrez Styles pledged their verbal commitment to the Tar Heels over the past six months and on Wednesday, both made it official as they signed their national letter of intent officially making them a Tar Heel:

Styles was the first to commit to UNC’s 2021 class, doing so back in April as the four-star in-state prospect is the latest from Kinston to join the program following in the footsteps of Jerry Stackhouse and Reggie Bullock. The four-star forward has really upped his game over the past few years and might be one of the more underrated prospects in the class.

As for Dunn, he is an Arizona native that moved to North Carolina a few years back. With that move, he started to get noticed more and became a target for the Tar Heels. He committed back in September and can provide some help on the wing, an area of need for UNC.

In addition to Dunn and Styles, the Tar Heels have three offers out in their 2021 class as they hope to add at least one five-star.
