DeAndre Hollins

DeAndre Hollins has earned his first set of helmet stickers for the 2020 regular season.

Towards the end of the first quarter, the Tar Heels had already put together a 21-0 lead. Up three scores, it felt that one big play could put the game even more out of reach.

This is where Hollins would come into play.

The Tampa, FL native stepped in front of a Chase Brice pass and turned it into a 43-yard interception. Not even a minute later, the Tar Heels offense added another score to give Mack Brown’s team a commanding lead.

Although the UNC Football team had a big lead at that point, Hollins’ interception had such an impact on the game. With the Tar Heels offense clicking on all cylinders, that turnover took the wind out of the Blue Devils’ sails.

The play served as yet another momentum shifter in favor of the Tar Heels, and although it may be overshadowed by other plays in the game, it definitely was a big play for the UNC defense.
