Jeremiah Gemmel
Like we mentioned earlier, the Tar Heels defense struggled against the Cavaliers. However, junior linebacker Jeremiah Gemmel was one of the lone bright spots on the defensive side of the ball.
The Newnan, GA native tallied 9 total tackles, three of which were solo tackles. He had an interception to start the fourth quarter, which was a huge boost considering that the Tar Heels were down multiple scores at the time.

Gemmel was active defensively throughout, and some of the big plays he made helped him earn helmet stickers for this week’s contest.
