Sam Howell

Sam Howell arguably had his best performance of the season against Virginia. Unfortunately, his outstanding performance ended in a Tar Heels loss.

The Indian Trail, N.C. native completed 23 of 28 passes for a season-high 443 yards and four touchdowns. Howell was efficient throughout, as he made smart decisions while taking some risks down the field.

While taking some shots down the field, Howell made some impressive throws on Saturday night.

In a game where the Tar Heels surprisingly didn’t get much from the running game, the passing game took over. Howell was instrumental in keeping the offense going, and kept the game closer than it probably should have been.
