UNC Basketball: Tar Heels add Duwe Farris to roster
The UNC Basketball program has added another player to their varsity roster for the 2020-2021 season.
As we approach the start of the 2020-2021 regular season, the UNC Basketball program has made a late addition to their roster.
This week, Roy Williams and his staff announced that Duwe Farris has been added to the active roster as a walk-on. With the addition of Farris, the Tar Heels roster currently stands at 17 players.
Farris is a sophomore from Charlotte, N.C. He played his high school basketball at Myers Park High School, where he was a three-year starter. As a senior, Farris helped guide Myers Park to a 22-9 mark, including an 11-3 record in conference play.
Although he is a new addition to the roster, Farris is no stranger to the UNC Basketball program. As a freshman, Farris played as a member of the Tar Heels Junior Varsity team, and earned a call-up to the Varsity roster.
The Farris family has plenty of ties to the University of North Carolina. Duwe will follow in the footsteps of his father (track), grandfather (football) and great-grandfather (football) as a North Carolina student-athlete.
When the news of Farris’ addition to the roster broke, the sophomore received some warm wishes from his high school alma mater.
The Tar Heels are scheduled to open up the 2020-2021 season on November 25, as they are set to take on the College of Charleston.
