This four-star point guard in the 2022 recruiting class has trimmed his list down to just eight programs as he will focus on those from now on

While the UNC Basketball program is still pursuing a few different recruits in the 2021 class but their options are dwindling down by the days. The month of October hasn’t been a kind one for UNC as they have missed out on a few recruits as well as been trimmed from lists.

But on Saturday, they received some good news in the recruitment for a 2022 prospect.

Four-star point guard Dylan Andrews officially cut down his list of schools to just eight, making a key update to his recruitment. Andrews is down to UNC, UCLA, Oregon, Arizona State, Kansas, Oregon, Stanford and Arizona:

It isn’t shocking to see the Los Angeles, California native have a bunch of West Coast programs on his list with the exceptions of UNC, Kansas and Louisville being the programs that are in the Midwest or East Coast.

The four-star point guard is ranked as the No. 29 overall recruit, No. 4 point guard and No. 4 player in the state of California per the 247 Sports recruiting rankings. He has a total of 14 offers so far but now will focus on those eight programs.

With Andrews being in Los Angeles, the advantage certainly goes to one of those West Coast programs but could a Blue Blood like UNC lure him out to the East Coast? Getting Andrews on campus for a visit could be the key here however, with the restrictions lasting through the year due to COVID-19, that might be difficult. Still, the Tar Heels have at least made this cut and are still in the recruitment which is great news.
