The UNC football program has made an official offer to a three-star quarterback from the class of 2022.

Mack Brown is no stranger to the state of Texas. Having served as the head coach of the Texas Longhorns football program for 15 years, Brown definitely knows the ins and outs of the state’s recruiting areas. Now that Brown is back at North Carolina, it looks like his staff is trying to persuade some of the Lone Star State’s top talent to come to Chapel Hill.

The Tar Heels have extended an official offer to Braedyn Locke, a three-star quarterback from the class of 2022. The Rockwall, Texas native currently ranks as the No. 24 pro-style quarterback in his class, and the No. 64 overall recruit in the state of Texas, according to 247 Sports.

Locke is coming off a rather impressive sophomore campaign. During the 2019 season, the 6-foot, 180-pound quarterback completed 59 percent of his passes, throwing for 4,305 yards and 52 touchdowns. If you haven’t seen Locke in action, check out his sophomore season highlight tape below:

North Carolina becomes the sixth school to make an offer to the 2022 signal-caller. Mack Brown’s program joins Wake Forest, SMU, Rice, Miami and Kansas as schools who have made official offers up to this point.

Locke is a player who’s stock could quickly rise. If the junior puts up similar numbers to his sophomore campaign, the list of schools showing interest in him will definitely see a major increase.

For now, Locke is without a doubt a high school prospect to keep an eye out for. It may be a while before he commits to a program, but until then, the Tar Heels will have ample time to put themselves in a good position to possibly land a commitment from the talented quarterback prospect.
