Dazz Newsome

Just like the running game, the Tar Heels had two standout receivers in this week’s victory.

Dazz Newsome made an impact in the running and passing game. Through the air, Newsome hauled in seven passes for 69 yards and a score, and scored an additional touchdown on a 6-yard rush.

Coming into Saturday’s action, Newsome had three total catches for 31 yards. After a thousand-yard season in 2019, this slow start didn’t add up for the talented wide receiver.

Hopefully, Saturday’s game will serve as a “coming out party” for Newsome. It should be expected that he will continue to serve as a lethal weapon for Mack Brown’s offense moving forward.
