The newest commitment for the UNC Basketball program is already pledging to help recruit others to Chapel Hill to join their class

The UNC Basketball program landed their second commitment in the 2021 recruiting class last week when four-star shooting guard D’Marco Dunn pledged his verbal to the Tar Heels.

Dunn is the second in-state recruit to commit to North Carolina, joining Dontrez Styles in their 2021 class. But Roy Williams and his staff hope they aren’t done adding just yet.

UNC has a few big targets left on their 2021 recruiting board and even a few in the 2022 class as well. With just two recruits committed, Williams and his staff are in pursuit of a few more wings and post players that would be a good fit.

And they appear to be getting some help from their newest recruit as well.

Just days after he committed, Dunn wrote a new blog for Sports Illustrated to talk about the end of his recruitment and the decision he made. Inside that blog, he dropped this nugget that should have UNC fans smiling about the potential of the class:

"Now that I’m committed, I want to bring more talented players with us in my class. I know that we’re going hard on Hunter Sallis and Skyy Clark and those are two talented guys that I would love to play with.I’ll definitely do what I can to help get them to Chapel Hill too.I want to come in and win a national championship, so I want to play with the best players."

Both Sallis and Clark are five-star guards that UNC has had their eyes on for some time now in their recruitments. Sallis is a Nebraska native and has been a big target for the Tar Heels since he officially received his offer earlier in 2020.

While he has a good amount of programs targeting him, the Tar Heels may have the best chance to pull him out of the Midwest. He would be an ideal fit with Dunn and R.J. Davis in UNC’s backcourt, giving them another legit scoring option.

The same can be said about Clark as well. However, Clark is currently in the 2022 recruiting class but could consider a reclassification to 2021. Clark has cut his list already but many believe it’s a two-team race between UNC and Kentucky for his services as he will announce later in October.

Next. Five-star target set to cut list soon. dark
