Four-star shooting guard D’Marco Dunn has committed to the UNC Basketball program, being the latest to join their 2021 class

The UNC Basketball program has landed their second commitment in the 2021 recruiting class as Roy Williams and his staff received some good news on Wednesday afternoon.

After pursuing D’Marco Dunn for months now, the four-star guard ended his recruitment and made his decision. Dunn verbally pledged his commitment to North Carolina, making his announcement on his Instagram live.

The recruit had a total of 19 offers in his recruitment but recently trimmed his list down to just seven schools. In the end, the Tar Heels beat out Arizona, Vanderbilt, Clemson, Georgia, Texas, and Louisville for Dunn.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound shooting guard is rated as the No. 79 overall recruit, No. 16 shooting guard and No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina per the 247 Sports rankings. He now gives UNC their second commitment, joining four-star forward Dontrez Styles in the class.

Despite not being ranked in the Top 50, Dunn is an underrated recruit that might be the perfect fit for the Tar Heels’ system. He’s among the best shooters in the class and can really score from anywhere on the court. With a need for some backcourt scoring, Dunn will be able to provide that right away for the Tar Heels.

As for UNC’s remaining targets in 2021, they still have a few big ones on their board including some five-star recruits. While it won’t be a big class like we saw in 2020, the 2021 class does have some talent and the chance to add at least one more recruit.

Next. UNC is the latest to contact this four-star recruit. dark
