Will the battle for five-star guard Skyy Clark come down to Blue Blood programs UNC and Kentucky? One analyst seems to think so

Barring any new developments, five-star combo guard Skyy Clark will be the next UNC Basketball target to announce his college decision. Clark revealed on Wednesday morning that he will be making his college decision on October 22nd.

With his list down to four schools, North Carolina, Kentucky, UCLA and Memphis, one of those programs will land the talented guard and add him to their 2022 recruiting class.

But could this recruitment come down to two Blue Blood programs? It’s sure looking that way according to the latest buzz around the recruitment.

Over the past few weeks some predictions have been made and they have essentially been split between North Carolina and Kentucky. A few recruiting analysts believe the Tar Heels have picked up momentum over the past month or so and have done enough to be the favorites. However, others believe it’s Kentucky that has held their ground and will be the destination for Clark.

That didn’t change on Thursday as Rivals recruiting analyst Eric Bossi stated the same thing, calling this a race between two teams. But Boosi thinks Clark will end up as part of the Wildcats’ class:

"With a little less than a month until he makes his decision, there have been no shortage of rumors regarding where Clark will ultimately play his college ball. Of late, North Carolina has picked up a lot of steam in the rumor mill and the Heels could very well be trending in the direction of landing him. Currently, my FutureCast pick is with Kentucky and given how many times Clark’s recruitment has shifted, I don’t see myself changing to North Carolina – or any other program – until things appear to be a little more certain. What I’m getting at here is that if I had to predict where Clark – who may ultimately end up in the class of 2021 – goes to school today, I wouldn’t feel comfortable making a prediction. But, I’ve already got one in for Kentucky and I don’t want to get in the habit of flipping my pick with each new rumor that comes along."

The thing to keep in mind here is that these predictions are from recruiting analysts and can change as time goes on. There hasn’t been much out on Clark as of late in terms of news outside of him announcing a decision date and anything can happen.

While this still could be 50/50, you have to like where the Tar Heels’ stand just under a month until his decision.
