5-star UNC basketball target Skyy Clark has set a date to announce his college decision.

The Skyy Clark recruitment has become one of the most fascinating in the country. Since naming his 10 finalists — a list that includes DePaul, Kansas, Kentucky, Memphis, Michigan, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee State, UCLA and USC — Clark and his camp have kept his recruitment rather quiet. Despite that, the prevailing feeling is that he isn’t dealing with 10 schools, but rather just two.

That two-horse race is believed to be between Kentucky and North Carolina, two programs that have gotten all of the buzz surrounding Clark’s recruitment in recent months. Many feel as if Kentucky has the upper hand, while others think it’s North Carolina that will come out victorious.

It’s worth noting that 70 percent of Rivals FutureCast votes are for the Tar Heels, and that each of those votes was at one point in favor of Kentucky. His 247Sports Crystal Ball, however, favors Kentucky by a tally of four votes to zero. Regardless, we feel safe in assuming that every other school on his list is effectively out of contention.

Clark took to Twitter late Tuesday night to make an announcement regarding his recruitment. October 22nd, he wrote, with the hash tag “commitment date.”

Following Clark’s announcement on Twitter, a pair of publishers on Rivals switched their previous Kentucky predictions to North Carolina, further signaling that maybe the Tar Heels do have the edge in this one. Either way, we’ll find out in less than a month where the talented 2022 prospect will be playing his college ball.

A junior at Brentwood Academy, Clark is a good ball handler that can push the ball up the court, and lead his team on the fast break. He’s a terrific shooter that has consistent range beyond the three-point line, and can set up his teammates for easy scores. He’s good at penetrating the lane, and isn’t afraid to finish in traffic through contact. His basketball I.Q. matches his considerable athletic ability. Along with having tremendous court vision, Clark has the size and tenacity to be an above-average defender, too.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Clark is ranked 15th in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s third among combo guards in the class, and the No. 2 prospect from the state of Tennessee.
