(2) Trey Kaufman, power forward

It took a while for the Tar Heels to offer four-star forward Trey Kaufman but since they have done so, they have made up a lot of ground in his recruitment. In fact, they may even be the team to beat to land this talented forward.

Kaufman recently announced his list of final schools including the Tar Heels, Virginia and in-state programs Indiana, Purdue and Indiana State. While the Hoosiers are one of the favorites in this race, it appears as if the Tar Heels have the best chance of pulling him out of the state. And the momentum continues to swing their way.

The forward recently took a trip to Chapel Hill and Charlottesville to visit the campuses of UNC and Virginia but he did not meet with any coaches or staff members. Getting to Chapel Hill is a good sign for UNC’s chances as it shows that he’s definitely interested in what the program and campus has to offer.

If I were to pick right now, I’d say in confidence that Kaufman ends up at UNC. The vibes I’m getting are strong and he’s a great fit for what Williams wants to do with his system.
