The UNC Basketball program appears to be in good shape for this five-star combo guard in the 2022 recruiting class

The race for five-star recruit Skyy Clark continues and for the UNC Basketball program, their biggest competitor might be a fellow Blue Blood program.

Roy Williams and his staff have been in pursuit of the five-star combo guard for months now, offering him a scholarship a few months back. The Tar Heels have been in this recruitment and considered a legit contender by many with only Kentucky and Memphis being legit competition.

But recently, they have appeared to pick up some more steam.

The latest forecast predictions on Rivals have taken a turn for the better for the Tar Heels in terms of Clark. Recruiting analyst Corey Evans has switched his pick from Kentucky to North Carolina back in early September and now others are following suite.

Since then, UNC has picked up four more predictions and all have been changes from Kentucky to Carolina.  Kentucky writers David Sisk, Travis Graf and Justin Rowland have all switched their picks, indicating they believe the Tar Heels are now the favorites. The other pick was from Richard Schnyderite, a writer who covers Rutgers, as he made his pick this weekend.

While this doesn’t mean Clark will end up at UNC, it’s certainly good news.

It’s really not a secret that the Tar Heels are starting to pickup momentum in this recruitment, either. Over the past few weeks, several analyst have offered their thoughts on Clark and UNC’s chances with it becoming a trend that there is positive news.

Clark has recently conducted some Zoom interviews as well, meeting with Memphis this weekend and UNC a few weeks ago. But that’s been about it in his recruitment in terms of news.
