Michael Carter

Javonte Williams had three fourth quarter touchdowns, but Michael Carter was the better running back in this game.

On the ground, Carter had seven carries for 78 yards. Even though he did not receive the bulk of carries, Carter averaged 11.1 yards-per-rush and had the game’s longest carry of 45 yards. He helped anchor a Tar Heels rushing attack that ran for 160 yards on the ground.

Along with his efforts in the run game, Carter was also very active in the pass game. The senior caught six passes for 60 yards, and ended the game as the team’s second-leading receiver.

Carter was clearly the Tar Heels’ best weapon this week, which makes him our only offensive helmet sticker recipient for this week’s victory.
