Did Mack Brown and the UNC Football program make the Top 3 list for this four-star tight end recruit?

Benjamin Gosnell is currently a member of the Class of 2022 and a big target for the UNC Football program.

With a need at tight end for the future, Mack Brown and his staff are hoping to land the four-star recruit and add him to their offense.

Although he has some time to make a final decision on his commitment, the four-star tight end wasted no time narrowing his list down.

On social media, Gosnell announced his Top 3 schools, which included North Carolina. Ohio State and Florida are the other two schools that are still in contention for the Pilot Mountain, NC native.

Gosnell is the No. 8 ranked prospect in North Carolina, according to 247 Sports.  In regards to his position, Gosnell is viewed as the No. 11 ranked tight end in his graduating class.

The Tar Heels have been actively pursuing the four-star tight end for almost a year now. On November 2, 2019, Gosnell made an unofficial visit to Chapel Hill, and the Tar Heels made him an official offer just 20 days later. He then made another unofficial visit to campus on January, and from that point, his recruiting process began to heat up a bit.

This is great news for the Tar Heels to be included in Gosnell’s Top 3 schools. As the state’s top-ranked tight end, it would be a really nice addition for the Tar Heels to be able to bring him into the mix.

We might not get a decision from Gosnell anytime soon, considering he’s a rising junior. However, now that he’s down to his final schools, we inch even closer to his final decision.

As the Tar Heels try to lure him to their program, expect for them to get Gosnell on campus for an official visit. Although he’s made two unofficial visits to this point, it’s certain that the Tar Heels want to get him on campus officially at some point in the near future.

The COVID-19 virus may dictate when the Tar Heels can get him on campus. However, the four-star recruit has time to make his decision, and will most definitely take a closer look at each school before making his final commitment.
