Roy Williams and the UNC Basketball program continues to pursue some of the top talent in the Class of 2021.

The UNC Basketball 2020 recruiting class ranks as one of the best in all of the nation. However, Roy Williams and crew are not satisfied with just that, as they know how important the 2021 recruiting class is to the program.

With that said, the Tar Heels continue to target some of the class’ top talents.

On Tuesday afternoon, four-star forward Trey Kaufman-Renn announced via his Instagram account that he was offered a scholarship from the Williams and the Tar Heels:

The rising senior from Sellersburg, Indiana is a 6-foot-8, 210-pound power forward. He is currently ranked No. 40 overall in the national rankings, and No. 2 overall in the state of Indiana, according to 247 sports.

Kaufman-Renn now has 11 official offers on the table. Some of the notable schools who have offered the athletic forward include Clemson, Indiana, Louisville, Purdue and Virginia.

As of now, 247 Sports’ Crystal Ball predictions have Kaufman-Renn committing to Indiana. Both Experts Mike Pegram and Chad Lykins see the Hoosiers as the favorite for the in-state product.

The crystal ball predictions do not go in the Tar Heels favor at this moment, but anything is possible. Now that they have an official offer on the table, it’s very likely that the Tar Heels will push for an official visit once schools are allowed to host potential prospects once again.

A visit to Chapel Hill could definitely have an impact on Kaufman-Renn’s decision.

As the recruiting trail moves along, the Tar Heels continue to be players for some of the best talent out there. We’ll have to wait and see if this top prospect ends up finding a home in North Carolina.
