Marvin Williams
Team: Milwaukee Bucks
Current Record: 53-12
Playoff Position: 1st in Eastern Conference
Of all the former Tar Heels currently in the NBA, Marvin Williams may have one of the best chances to compete for an NBA title this season.
The 34-year-old has not been with the Bucks for long, as he was signed after having his contract bought out right after the trade deadline. Although he’s only appeared in just 11 for Milwaukee, Williams seems to have a pretty significant role off the Bucks bench. Prior to the season being delayed, Williams was serving as the team’s backup forward, earning quality minutes with the team’s second unit.
As the season is set to resume, the Bucks hope that Williams shoots more consistently from downtown. The veteran forward was shooting just 29.6% from three, which is significantly below his 36.2% career average.
If Williams can find his stroke and shoot the ball effectively, he possibly could earn more playing time down the stretch.
