The UNC Football program makes the cut for this four-star offensive tackle but their chances aren’t good as he is ready to make a choice

After losing out on four-star defensive end George Wilson over the weekend, the UNC Football program did receive some good news after all.

Four-star offensive tackle Logan Taylor made a big update to his recruitment over the weekend and is ready for the next step. Taylor announced that he has narrowed down his list of schools to just three finalists: Florida, Virginia and North Carolina.

In addition to that, Taylor told 247 Sports recruiting analyst Brian Dohn that he is ready to make a choice and will announce his commitment on Friday morning:

"The No. 23 offensive tackle in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite will announce his choice Friday at 11 a.m. and he has three schools on his list.“Florida, Virginia, North Carolina,” Taylor told 247Sports."

Taylor had a total of 26 offers in his recruitment and was able to narrow it down to just three finalists here in July. He’s made one visit so far in his recruitment, taking a trip to Virginia for a game last season. That may work in the Cavaliers favor as the NCAA has imposed a dead period in recruiting since late March.

The Alexandria, Virginia native heard from schools like Arizona, Kentucky, N.C. State, Penn State, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Ole Miss, Michigan State and Duke among others as they all offered him. However, even with the recruiting dead period, he’s ready to make his decision.

Going into this decision, it’s hard to see it going UNC or Florida’s way. The 307-ranked player in the nation appears to be leaning to Virginia, the one school that landed a visit. The Cavaliers currently hold the Crystal Ball on 247 Sports, landing all five predictions with confidence scores of 8. But don’t count the Tar Heels and Gators out yet as stranger things have happened.
