The UNC Basketball program is showing interest in a three-star guard out of Virginia but they have yet to offer the recruit

The UNC Basketball recruiting board is starting to shape up for the 2021 recruiting class after they turned in a Top 2 class in 2020.

Roy Williams and his staff are hoping to build a good 2021 class and currently have seven offers out to prospects. But those aren’t the only recruits that the Tar Heels are targeting.

UNC has a few other targets on their board but have yet to offer them. That includes five-star power forward Jabari Smith who we wrote on earlier in the week.  Another recruit that is drawing some interest is three star point guard Angelo Brizzi.

The Virginia native has a total of 18 offers in his recruitment as he’s ranked No. 117 nationally, No. 19 at his position and No. 4 in his state per 247 Sports Composite Rankings.

Brizzi is drawing interest from several programs as his list continues to grow. He recently did an interview with Adam Zagoria to update his recruitment and while he broke down the teams recruiting him the most, Zag’s Blog noted that the Tar Heels are indeed keeping tabs on him:

"Back in April, Brizzi told ZAGSBLOG that Villanova, Georgetown, Yale, Dartmouth and Old Dominion were. the schools recruiting him the hardest.Brizzi is also receiving interest from North Carolina, Iowa State and Virginia."

The Tar Heels don’t have a commit from a guard yet in the 2021 class with their lone commit being four-star forward Dontrez Styles. UNC has yet to offer Brizzi and it could be a matter of them waiting to see what their other guard targets do.

Either way, the Tar Heels do have interest and if they are serious about it, an offer should be on the way soon. Stay tuned.
