A UNC Football recruiting target has set his decision date for the month of July. Find out when he’s going to announce and where the Tar Heels stand

The end of June and the month of July could be a big one for the UNC Football program, in terms of recruiting. And it may come when during a NCAA dead period for recruiting.

North Carolina will learn their fate for five-star defensive back Tony Grimes next week as he’s set to make his decision with the Tar Heels being the favorites. But in July, UNC could be adding to that defensive line in the terms of two other recruits.

Four-star defensive tackle Payton Page is set to make his decision sometime in July, although he doesn’t have an exact date. Fellow defensive lineman, George Wilson, will also be committing in July.

According to Brian Dohn of 247 Sports, Wilson will be announcing his decision on July 12th as he will verbally commit to a program.

"“July 12,” Wilson told 247Sports in regards to when he will make his pick public."

Wilson is down to just four schools in his recruitment and will pick between North Carolina, Penn State, Arizona State and South Carolina.

The 6-foot-5, 214-pound defensive end out of Virginia Beach, Virginia is ranked as a four-star recruit and the No. 336 overall player and No. 9 player in the state of Virginia per 247 Sports. He was looking to make some trips for official visits before committing but his recruitment has heated up and now he’s ready for a decision.

But where does that put the Tar Heels?

Dohn does note in his article that the Tar Heels have made up a lot of ground quickly in this recruitment, making Wilson’s final cut a month ago. Prior to that, UNC was just staying in the recruitment. But now that they are on his final list and he’s ready to commit, UNC’s chances are looking better.
