UNC Basketball center Armando Bacot has plans to go to the Midwest and workout with a future teammate. More on that and when UNC can return to campus

Athletes at the University of North Carolina will be able to return to campus very soon beginning with the football program in mid-June. The basketball players will follow suite in early July as the university begins transitioning to a new schedule for the Fall.

While we are all excited about the start of a new season, especially after a 14-19 campaign a year ago, there is still a ways to go before that happens. With players not on campus they have had to resort to their own personal workouts. And one player has done just that.

A few weeks ago we wrote about center Armando Bacot working out this offseason with former UNC standout Ed Davis. But as the days have gone on, Bacot has decided that he needs to workout with a future teammate.

GoHeels.com columnist Adam Lucas wrote a very good and detailed piece on Bacot who is getting ready to enter a very important sophomore season. In the piece, Bacot revealed something pretty awesome about his Summer plans. He’s hoping to take a trip to St. Louis to workout with his future teammate and five-star guard Caleb Love:

"Bacot and freshman point guard Caleb Love plan to work out together next week in St. Louis, and they’re also recruiting Garrison Brooks—who has been holding regular virtual meetings of his teammates to keep everyone connected—to join them."

Getting in-sync with a future teammate is never a bad idea, especially when your time is limited in the offseason. Normally the Tar Heels would be on campus and playing pickup games together before Summer camp and then Fall practice starts.

But this isn’t the norm and adjustments need to be made. It’s also nice to see players take matters into their own hands and get the workouts done.
