The UNC Basketball program picks up a prediction for this four-star shooting guard in the 2020 recruiting class after he set an announcement date

After a dismal 2019-20 campaign that saw the North Carolina Tar Heels suffer the worst season under head coach Roy Williams, brighter days are ahead. That starts with the Tar Heels’ 2020 recruiting class which is currently ranked No. 3 overall.

UNC has three five-star recruits in Walker Kessler, Day’Ron Sharpe and Caleb Love, as well as two four-star recruits in Donovan “Puff” Johnson and R.J. Davis. But UNC may not be done adding to that impressive class.

With the transfer of Brandon Huffman, it opened up a scholarship for a potential addition to the class. Target Ziaire Williams ended his recruitment on Sunday, picking Stanford over the Tar Heels, Arizona, UCLA and USC. That leaves just one target left: Four-star guard Kerwin Walton.

The Top 100 recruit recently announced that he would make his decision on April 25th and the Tar Heels are among his finalists. With a scholarship open and UNC staying in his recruitment for the duration, it might be a good sign for the Tar Heels.

Since that announcement, one recruiting analyst has made a prediction for where Walton will land and it favors the Tar Heels.

Eric Bossi of Rivals was the latest analyst at the site to make a prediction for Walton and he picked UNC on Friday. The prediction came after three other analysts picked Arizona from November to December.

The Tar Heels have just one prediction from Rivals but the timing is very interesting. It comes hours after Walton set his decision date, which should be a good sign. We should also note that there have been no predictions made at all for Walton in the 247 Sports’ Crystal Ball predictor.

Next. Kerwin Walton is a fit for UNC. dark
