A UNC Basketball five-star recruiting target has set his decision date for this weekend as he will finally end his recruitment

One of the top remaining recruits in the 2020 class will officially end his recruitment this weekend.

Five-star forward and North Carolina target Ziaire Williams took to Twitter to announce that he will end his commitment and pick between five finalists on Easter Sunday. Williams is a Top 20 recruit and narrowed his list of teams down to North Carolina, Arizona, Stanford, USC and UCLA.

While the Tar Heels are one of the five finalists, it’s not expected that Williams will choose UNC on Sunday.

The five-star recruit has been recruited by UNC for a few years now and took two official visits plus an unofficial to Chapel Hill in his recruitment. The Tar Heels appeared to be a lock to land him over a year ago but a commitment never happened. Instead, Williams continued his recruitment and as time went on, it became more clear that he would stay on the West Coast.

The only question left is which West Coast team?

Arizona and USC appear to be the two favorites going into this decision date. It’s possible the Wildcats are the favorites and it could cause a domino effect. Four-star guard Kerwin Walton is another recruit that both UNC and Arizona are battling over and he recently set a decision date of April 25th. There’s the potential for a scholarship to open up right now with Brandon Huffman transferring and it’s likely it will go to Walton or Williams, whoever commits. There is also the case that both don’t pick UNC which is worst-case scenario.
