The UNC Basketball program received unofficial visit from an in-state prospect in the 2021 recruiting class on Saturday

The North Carolina Tar Heels may have a new recruiting targets on their 2021 recruiting big board.

Class of 2021 forward Eric van Der Heijden took a visit to Chapel Hill on Saturday to watch North Carolina take on Miami in the Dean Dome. There’s been no official word on it being an official visit so it’s very likely the Raleigh product were in the building for an unofficial.

He was joined by his teammate, Will Felton:

The visit for van Der Heijden comes just 10 days after UNC assistant coach Hubert Davis watched the 2021 recruit in action. van Der Heijden didn’t disappoint, and scored 10 points in front of Davis and N.C. State head coach Kevin Keatts. It could be a battle of in-state programs going after this recruit for their 2021 classes.

The 6-foot-8 small forward is ranked as a three-star prospect by 247 Sports, and is starting to see his recruitment pick up. van Der Heijden has a total of seven offers from Division-I programs with the latest coming from Boston College. N.C. State and now UNC have also recently shown interest in the recruit.

UNC currently doesn’t have a commitment in the 2021 recruiting class, but have sent out a few offers out to recruits including big man Chet Holmgren on Friday night. Williams and his staff have a fantastic 2020 recruiting class with five commits and are now working on that 2021 class.
