UNC Basketball: Tar Heels pick up Crystal Ball predictions for five-star PG
By Zack Pearson
The UNC Basketball program picked up a few Crystal Ball predictions for a five-star point guard that took an official visit over the weekend
The North Carolina Tar Heels landed a big recruit in five-star center Walker Kessler over the weekend, adding to their 2020 recruiting class.
With the addition of the big man, the Tar Heels will pair him with fellow center and five-star Day’Ron Sharpe. Kessler will be able to play more of a power forward role in Roy Williams’ offense as the head coach loves to push the ball down the floor and utilizes his big men in the post to his advantage.
But with two big men already signed, the Tar Heels will shift their focus to add to their backcourt in the 2020 class. They have several targets still left on their recruiting board to fill a need and are rumored to be in great shape for a few.
One big target that was also on his official visit with Kessler over the weekend was Caleb Love.
The five-star point guard took his official last weekend but has yet to commit. However, on Tuesday the Tar Heels did pick up a few Crystal Ball predictions for Love on 247 Sports.
Love currently has six predictions on his Crystal Ball and all are to the Tar Heels. Now the Crystal Ball predictions don’t guarantee that a team will land a player and often times they have been wrong but a good way to look at is who is making these predictions.
On Tuesday lead recruiting analyst for 247 Sports, Evan Daniels, made his prediction for the Tar Heels to land Love which is a great sign. Daniels is usually pretty spot on with these and even logged a prediction for Walker Kessler hours before he committed.
Landing that prediction from Daniels might just seal the fate for the Tar Heels and make it only a matter fo time before Love commits. Love is still visiting Louisville this weekend for an official and an announcement is expected to come before the Early Signing Day Period.
