By Zack Pearson
The UNC Basketball program has announced their 2019-20 non-conference schedule with dates and opponents.
With the 2018-19 sports season wrapped up for the University of North Carolina, the attention turns to the 2019-20 school year. We already know the full schedule for the Tar Heels’ football team which begins with a date against South Carolina in Week 1.
But for the basketball team, that starts in November, we still don’t have the full schedule. On Thursday, the Tar Heels announced a piece of that schedule as they revealed their full 2019-20 non-conference schedule.
UNC will play host to Gardner-Webb, Elon, Ohio State, Wofford and Yale while traveling to take on UNC-Wilmington and Gonzaga for their non-conference schedule. In addition, UNC will also play in the Battle For Atlantis during the week of Thanksgiving as well as take on UCLA in the CBS Sports Classic in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Take a look at the non-conference schedule below:
- Nov. 8 at UNCW in Wilmington, N.C.
- Nov. 15 Gardner-Webb in Chapel Hill
- Nov. 20 Elon (Battle 4 Atlantis) in Chapel Hill
- Nov. 27-29 Battle 4 Atlantis in Paradise Island, Bahamas

The 2019-20 season will be a little different in terms of the schedule as the Atlantic Coast Conference has switched to a 19-game schedule beginning this season. UNC is set to take on Notre Dame on November 6 to open up conference play.
The game will be broadcasted live on the ACC Network as one of a few to help ring in the new college basketball season on the new network. Following that game, UNC will then play UNCW just two days later to begin their conference schedule.
UNC’s ACC schedule with dates and times have yet to be decided but they do know what teams they will be playing on the road, at home and both. To see the updated schedule for the Tar Heels 2019-20 season please click here.
