The UNC Basketball program lands in the Top 10 list for one of the top recruits in the 2020 class as he made his list on Thursday night

Class of 2020 five-star shooting guard Cade Cunningham is quickly grabbing the attention of many around the college basketball world. Over the past few months, Cunningham has been able to raise his stock as a recruit through his play in his junior year of high school and on the AAU Circuits.

The Montverde Academy product is currently ranked as the No. 7 overall player in the 247 Sports Composite rankings and the No. 2 player in the state of Florida for his class.

Cunningham’s ability to score from almost anywhere on the court has drawn the attention of coaches and now most of the big programs across the country are getting involved in his recruitment. That includes the North Carolina Tar Heels who have watched Cunningham on the AAU circuit and are now upping their pursuit.

The shooting guard was recently named a standout at the EYBL AAU session in Dallas over the weekend and now, just days later he’s made an update to his recruitment. On Thursday, Cunningham released his list of the Top 10 schools left in his recruitment. Cunningham released the list via Twitter and included the Tar Heels:

Joining UNC on the list are some pretty big programs such as Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, Memphis and Virginia. Oklahoma State, Washington, Texas and Florida all made the cut as well.

In addition to naming a Top 10, Cunningham also revealed that each one of his Top 10 schools have offered him so far. There have been rumors swirling that UNC offered Cunningham but there was never any solid information on that front.

Cunningham has yet to take any official visits in his recruitment and will play on the AAU Circuit this Summer. He will likely start scheduling visits for the Summer and Fall before making a decsion on a college.

The Tar Heels currently have one recruit verbally committed in 2020 with four-star center Day’Ron Sharpe making that decision last June. They have several offers out for recruits in 2020 hoping to build up that class. If they can somehow land Cunningham, they could have one of the best classes in the cycle.
