The UNC Basketball program have a new target on their 2020 board and he was a standout at an EYBL session over the weekend

Roy Williams and his staff at North Carolina appear to have a new target on their 2020 recruiting board.

After the EYBL weekend session wrapped up in Indianapolis, a few players caught the eyes of national scouts that were in attendance. The three-day period was the latest session on the EYBL circuit, two weeks after an event in Atlanta.

We already told you about a big UNC target in the 2020 class, Ziaire Williams, impressing some national scouts but he wasn’t the only one.

Evan Daniels, Brian Snow and Josh Gershon put together their gallery of the top players from the Indianapolis session for 247 Sports and right there at No. 3 was five-star small forward/point guard Cade Cunningham. The trio praised Cunningham’s play over the weekend, saying he had the best al-around game.

Here is what they wrote on Cunningham:

"Maybe no player showed a more complete game this weekend than Cunningham. The Texas Titans have been a dominant force in the EYBL, and had another excellent showing in Indianapolis. At 6-foot-6, Cunningham can do a little bit of everything. He showed he is a tremendous passer, his shot is improving, and then also he has the size and athleticism to finish around the rim and in the mid-range. On the defensive end he is both versatile and intelligent. Look for Cunningham to challenge for status in the top five in this class before it is all said and done."

The article also noted that Cunningham is being by North Carolina, among other top schools in the country. That’s something new from this weekend as UNC has watched Cunningham in the past but have not shown a ton of interest.

The Florida native is putting together an impressive start to the EYBL circuit as both a point guard and small forward. He’s currently ranked No. 7 overall in the 2020 class and is drawing interest from schools like UNC, Kentucky, Duke, Kansas and Virginia among others.

Cunningham has a total of 8 offers but the Tar Heels are currently not one of those teams yet. Still, the fact that they are now involved is pretty big.
