A top UNC Basketball recruiting target in the 2020 class was a standout over the weekend on the EYBL circuit in Indianapolis.

Earlier in the month, class of 2020 five-star forward Ziaire Williams was one of the best players on the court over the weekend at the EYBL circuit in Atlanta. Williams’ play earned him a spot on the EYBL All-First Team for Atlanta by D1 Circuit.

Now, just two weeks later he’s back at it again.

Williams was one of the standouts at the latest event on the EYBL circuit but this time it was in Indianapolis over Mother’s Day weekend. The small forward was one of the top players in the four games he appeared in despite his AAU team, the Oakland Soldiers, going just 1-3 on the weekend.

The North Carolina recruiting target opened up the weekend by scoring 27 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and dishing out 9 assists in a loss to Alabama Fusion on Friday night. Williams came an assist short of a triple-double, showing off his all-around game.

On Saturday, Williams scored 20 points in a morning loss to NY Lightning and then dropped 29 points against WhyNot. Williams also came up big on Sunday, putting together an impressive showing with a stat line of  36 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists game in the win over team Boo Williams.

With his play, Williams earned the praise of some national recruiting analysts from 247 Sports over the weekend. Evan Daniels, Brian Snow and Josh Gershon put together a notebook from Friday night’s action and mentioned the five-star Williams in it.

Here is what they wrote on the small forward:

"The physical gifts Williams possess are impressive. At 6-foot-8, Williams has plus size for the position to go with good length, and exceptional athleticism. He bounces off the ground with ease and is a quick leaper, evident by his multiple tip dunk and put backs in traffic against the Fusion. The skill is there too. He’s a confident jump shooter with smooth, easy stroke. He made just one of eight three-pointers in this viewing, but did make mid-range pull-ups. He was effective as a driver, making play after play at the rim, both in transition and in the half court. Williams also excelled as a passer, showing vision and impressive feel as a distributor."

Williams holds 16 offers and has taken an unofficial visit to Chapel Hill for Late Night With Roy and an official in UNC’s regular season final against Duke. As it stands now, the Tar Heels and Stanford appear to be the two early favorites according to the 247 Sports Crystal Ball. Both programs hold 50 percent of the predictions.

With Williams playing this well on the AAU circuit, his ranking could continue to go up. He’s currently ranked No. 19 overall and No. 5 at his position.
